Dear Panther Campers,
We were so impressed with our Panther Camper when we picked it up from your factory! My husband was simply grinning from ear to ear. The online pictures on your website were great, but they simply don't do the Sierra model justice. We were more than pleased with the craftsmanship, quality wood materials and numerous custom features (A/C unit, refrigerator, sink, seating area, reading lights and etc.). We camped in our unit two nights on our 1200 mile return trip home... it truly was a little home away from home! The weight of this camper will still allow us to tow our horse trailer and have a comfortable place to lay our heads while enjoying the great outdoors. We are so thankful to have this completely custom camper and we thank you for all of your hospitality!
Sincerely,
M & R
Superior RV Manufacturing / Panther Campers is located in Vancouver, WASHINGTON (USA). The folks - Rich, Jim and crew were great! They make toy haulers, slide-in campers and "Hot Shots" semi-truck type sleepers. At Panther Campers, they can customize your camper to meet the size requirements of your specific truck bed, with the accessories you want.
The Mule: 2004 Ford F-150 4X4 SuperCrew XLT with 5.4 Triton engine. Short 5.5' pickup bed. Rear suspension assisted by Hellwig LP-15 Helper Springs.
The Pack: 2008 Panther Campers Sierra SB model with NorthWest Package. Our camper weighs approximately 1367 lbs. with camping equipment and a full fresh water tank (6-gallons).

We purchased the Sierra model with the NorthWest Package. Our NorthWest Package included the following: 54" overcab sleeping area (with futon), stainless steel sink with 6-gallon fresh water tank, countertop area with pantry, 110V refrigerator, dinette table and couch with 36" single bunk.

We were very impressed with the solid wood (Oak) cabinets. Even with the smaller quarters of our Sierra short-bed model, the cabinets provided plenty of overhead and under counter storage. We brought 5 plastic bins worth of camping equipment and everything found its place!

We brought our own fabric and added the extra layer of upholstry to the curtains and cushions. If requested in advance, you can send your fabric to them ahead of time for a truly custom interior. We found this tooled ultrasuede at Walmart for about $7.99 a yard. We also found the antique bandana material at Walmart and it was about $4.99 a yard. We removed the window bumpers and hot-glued the fabric over them. We used velcro along the cushion edges to make the ultrasuede material removable for washing. The simple touches like those listed above, really made our Panther Camper "ours".

The electrical system of our camper was built feature rich. The 12v system is comprised of a bank of 3 marine/rv deep cycle batteries that power the water pump, four interior lights, porch light, reading lights, carbon-monoxide/LP gas detector and the FanTastic Fan. A 1500W power inverter supplies power to the 2.7 c.f. Kenmore refrigerator, wall-mounted 5,500 BTU Frigidaire A/C unit and wall plug-in (GFI) when we are underway or "boondocking". When we are plugged in to shorepower or underway, a converter/charger recharges the camper batteries as well as the truck battery. An easy to read volt meter mounted on the cab wall, lets us know just about how much juice is left.

The interior floor was about twice the size that we had imagined. We never knew a 5.5' pickup truck bed could be so large! After stowing away the dinette table and seating area, you can see that there is plenty of extra space for storage.
Our Panther Camper has opened a whole new world of traveling to us. We received so much more than we could've hoped for with our camper. Prior to contacting Panther Campers, I had researched several truck camper companies. Only Panther Campers was able to meet my requirements: hard-sided, light-weight, economical, specific accessories, electrical upgrades and darn nice to look at. If it hadn't been for Panther Campers, we probably would have done without.
With much gratitude we are proud to say that Our Panther Camper was custom made for us by the wonderful people at:
